The Tidal Wave.
American Water is one of those clients or one of those accounts that will go down in SilverTech history as one of the agency's greatest achievements. When you pull off what everyone else says can't be done, you feel this overwhelming feeling in your chest. That feeling is pride.
It's not that the work itself was particularly different or extraordinarily challenging, although admittedly when you are marketing something like water, that everyone takes for granted and that everyone thinks should be 'free', it does become an interesting venture. But this client, who we still partner with to this day, will go down in history because of what they asked us to accomplish in such a short amount of time. And, yep, call us crazy, but we accepted the challenge, worked together at an 'all hands on deck' pace and totally pulled it off.
The Floodgates Opened.
American Water, one of the largest water utilities in North America, (yes we did say North America), called us one day, sort of out of the blue, and asked us to partner with them on an enormous digital brand re-launch that involved more than 4,500 pages of online content across nearly forty (40) websites. The catch? We had to do it in time for their IPO – which was only a few months away. And, not only did they want us to help them launch the new brand in all digital channels, they also wanted us to lead the effort of corralling, rallying, and guiding the strategic direction of the project among approximately forty (yes 40) managers located in American Water offices across the country.

After we got over the initial shock of the aggressive timeline, we got right to work planning and brainstorming every digital detail with members of the amazing American Water marketing team. We were intimately involved in every step from marathon strategy and planning sessions to information architecture, technical development and marketing recommendations. The new corporate website has won dozens of national awards, daily website traffic has increased 3700% and the entire rebrand story has been featured in national marketing and branding magazines as a case study of success.
SilverTech continues to work on all aspects of digital marketing for American Water to this day including interactive touch-screen kiosks, search engine optimization, online annual reports, video optimization, special digital campaigns and projects (and more) as American Water's official digital marketing partner.
