About AORN

AORN is the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, a community that started in 1949 in order to share best practices for operating room nurses. AORN is celebrating 75 years of being the largest family of organizations dedicated to supporting nurses and surgical teams with over 44,000 members nationwide. AORN shares information with its members through their digital assets, including the website. AORN came to the experts at SilverTech wanting a new digital member experience across all the AORN websites.

 

The Process

SilverTech’s strategy team reviewed the most current data from AORN and provided recommendations for enhancing components of all the websites for optimized data accuracy and clean data collection going forward. With this project, SilverTech met the challenge of moving seven websites from Sitecore to Sitefinity. Progress Sitefinity was the newly chosen platform for its ease of use, rich functionality and fully customizable features. This project required a design of seven unique styles and brands, creating widgets and content types that would accommodate their content needs for each of the seven entities. This includes the Outpatient Surgery magazine which had more than 12,000 articles. Other challenges with this project included the incorporation of ad space throughout the sites, SSO and member login functionality, custom search, scripted content migration and more.

New York Proton Center’s New Website Ranks Among the Nation’s Best In the 2024 Cancer Awareness Advertising Awards Program

Bedford, N.H., April 30, 2025 — SilverTech, an award-winning digital experience agency, in collaboration with the New York Proton Center (NYPC), is proud to announce their recognition as Gold Award winner in the 2024 Cancer Awareness Advertising Awards Program. This prestigious accolade honors their exceptional work in promoting cancer awareness and education.

The Cancer Awareness Advertising Awards (CAA Awards) is the nation’s premier competition exclusively dedicated to recognizing outstanding marketing and advertising efforts that promote cancer-related products and services. Only projects specifically designed, printed, published, and distributed for the purpose of cancer awareness are eligible for entry into this prestigious annual program. The Gold Award is bestowed upon organizations that demonstrate excellence in advertising and marketing.

SilverTech and NYPC's award-winning website was designed to educate the public about the benefits of proton therapy, an advanced form of radiation treatment that targets cancer cells with precision, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. The new website was designed to give users a modern digital experience, utilizing patient testimonials and educational content to effectively communicate the advantages of proton therapy to a broader audience.

According to the American Cancer Society, more than one million people in the United States are diagnosed with cancer each year. As marketing professionals, it is our responsibility to educate and inform communities about cancer risk factors, early detection, diagnosis, and available treatment services.

To be recognized in the Cancer Awareness Advertising Awards, an entry must place in the top 16% of all submissions. Awards were distributed based on the following scoring criteria:

Gold Awards – Score of 95 to 99 (top 5% in the nation)
Silver Awards – Score of 90 to 94 (top 12% in the nation)
Bronze Awards – Score of 85 to 89 (top 16% in the nation)

The Gold Award from the Cancer Awareness Advertising Awards Program highlights the impactful collaboration between SilverTech and NYPC in advancing cancer education and awareness through innovative digital strategies.
